3. Pass the NMLS Nation Component Exam with Uniform State Test using our included test preparation program and add other states by getting and completing state PE courses

Hawaii Loan Officer Prelicensing Education Requirements
In addition to the initial 20 hours of SAFE MLO education, Hawaii requires 3 hours of state-specific law instruction. If you haven't completed your initial 20 hours of SAFE education, click here to view our 20 Hour SAFE options. This state is a UST state and has adopted the Uniform state test added to the National test. Click here if you are already licensed in another state and only need the HI 3 hour MLO Online course.
Note: Upon completion of the pre-licensing education, an individual has up to twelve months to apply for licensure as a mortgage loan originator. An individual who applies for licensure after the twelve months have expired will be required to repeat the pre-licensing education requirements.
HI Mortgage Loan Originator Continuing Education Requirements
If you are already a licensed MLO in the state of Hawaii you don't need to take PE (unless you have been instructed by the NMLS to do so). You do need to complete at least 8 Hours including 1 hour of Hawaii state specific law NMLS approved continuing education every year following the year of completion of your initial 20 hour PE requirements. How much does a Hawaii MLO license cost?
Total License costs: $865 including the NMLS processing fee. Plus a $15 fee for a credit report will be added if one has not been authorized through NMLS in the past 30 days from the date of application. You will also pay an additional $36.25 if you authorize a criminal background check at time of application
