This 20-hour SAFE comprehensive course includes three 3 hours of Federal law, 3 hours of Ethics, and 4 hours of training on nontraditional mortgage products. The remaining 14 hours of electives are allocated to the NMLS-tested content on the Uniform State Test, General Mortgage Knowledge, Federal Law, and Ethics. This package includes a progressive, comprehensive test prep path that prepares state-licensed mortgage loan originators (MLOs) to sit for the SAFE MLO National Component Test and pass on their first attempt. The SAFE Act requirement for twenty (20) hours of Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) approved education is met upon completing this class.

Delivered in six (6) content modules, this twenty (20) hour comprehensive course has a scheduled start and end date and is available from any location with an internet connection.

Module 1 includes content to prepare you for the NMLS Test Categories on the Uniform State Test (UST) and General Mortgage Knowledge. Learn the difference between depository and state-licensed mortgage loan originators, understand the licensing process, and master key concepts and terms of the mortgage industry.
Module 4 Loan Origination Activities covering conforming and government loan guidelines, loan to value, qualifying borrowers, mortgage math appraisals, title work, and more to equip you with the basics to pass the NMLS exam.
Module 3, Federal Law TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID), deeply covers disclosure, timelines for disclosure and redisclosure, waiting periods, and document retention requirements.
Module 4 Federal law continues with Qualified Mortgages, Higher Priced Mortgages and High-Cost Mortgage loans, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and more
Module 5 completes the strong Federal Law foundation we built with you for successful NMLS exam outcomes, covering the Privacy Act (GLB), Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), and the Dodd-Frank Act.
Module 6 finishes your SAFE 20-hour COMPREHENSIVE course on nontraditional mortgage lending, providing a working knowledge of Adjustable Rate Mortgages now that the mortgage industry has transitioned from epic record low interest rates to moderate interest rates. Learn how to protect you, your company, and the consumer from mortgage fraud. Finish the course with the final chapters on the basics of ethics in mortgage lending.

After class registration, students receive a “Course Assignment Notification” to the provided email address. This notification provides the information required to successfully sign in to the Online Instructor-Led course through the LMS and includes such information as user account information, the title of the course, and the date and time the course begins and ends.
